Sítio Prata is a remarkable specialty coffee originating from the southern region of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Cultivated on an 8-hectare farm in Nova Resende, this coffee is the product of a single family’s dedication to coffee growing. The farm sits at an altitude of 1100 to 1200 meters above sea level and is characterised by latosol and argisol soils, which contribute to the unique flavor profile of the coffee.

This coffee is processed using a natural anaerobic method. The beans, primarily yellow catuai varietal, are screened to a size grade of 16up, ensuring high quality and uniformity.

The history of Sítio Prata is deeply rooted in the family’s long-standing connection to coffee cultivation. Marlene, a key figure in the farm’s operations, grew up assisting her father in coffee harvesting and has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in coffee production. Together with her husband Osvaldo Bachião, Marlene continues to manage the farm with a strong commitment to quality and tradition. The farm is fully mechanised, allowing efficient harvesting processes that include a two-stage collection to ensure optimal ripeness of the coffee cherries.

Sítio Prata also emphasises environmental sustainability and community development through initiatives such as the Gerações Protocol and Donas do Café Especialíssimo programs. These efforts support the local community and promote sustainable farming practices. The partnership with SMC Specialty Coffees as the exporter and miller ensures that Sítio Prata maintains its high standards and reaches coffee enthusiasts around the world.
